USPA NEWS - The Festival de Cannes announces for the 75th edition, which will take place from May 17 to 28, the composition of the jury and especially its President. In 2022, Vincent Lindon will be the President of the Jury, which is perfectly balanced with five women and five men members of the jury, during this 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
It is the French actor Vincent Lindon, very popular in France and known for his very committed roles, who was chosen to be the President of the Jury of the Cannes Film Festival. Surrounded by eight jurors, the winner of the Best Actor award in 2015 will award the Palme d'Or to one of the 21 films in the Competition on Saturday May 28, during the Closing Ceremony, which will be broadcast live by France Télévisions and Brut. Isabelle Huppert was the last French personality to occupy, in 2009, the Presidency of the Jury. In the history of the Festival, artists from France have often played this role for a celebratory edition, such as Yves Montand in 1987 for the 40th anniversary, Gérard Depardieu in 1992 for the 45th Festival or even Isabelle Adjani in 1997 for the 50th anniversary." "It is an immense honor, and a very great pride to see me entrusted, in the midst of the tumult of the multiple events that we are going through in the world, the splendid and heavy task of presiding over the Jury of the 75th Cannes International Film Festival. With my Jury, we will strive to take the best care of films of the future, which all carry the same secret hope, courage, loyalty and freedom; whose mission is to move the greatest number of women and men by talking to them about their common wounds and joys. Culture helps the human soul to rise and hope for tomorrow." Vincent Lindon, President
