USPA NEWS - President Trump, pushed back on surprising Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif visit, to the G7 Summit in Biarritz, France, invited by President Macron (After they had met two days before at Elysee Palace, Paris). The sudden Iranian visit took everybody by surprise, by visiting the G7 amidst rising tension between the two countries, due to the sanctions imposed by President Trump to Iran and withdraw of JCPCOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, The nuclear agreement was obtained in 2015, during Obama´s administration is no longer active, since President Trump exited unilaterally).Monday morning, US President Donald Trump confirmed to have given the green light to President Emmanuel Macron « Asked for my agreement, he told the press. I told him: if that's what you want, go for it! I knew everything he did and I approved. " But, he added, "I do not want to meet" Mohammad Javad Zarif. "It is too early to meet him," he continued, as relations between Washington and Tehran are very tense following Donald Trump's denunciation of the international nuclear deal on Iran.

The annual gathering, G7, which brings together leaders from seven super powers, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States, marks the surprise guest foreign Affairs Minister form Iran, invited by President Macron, (France is chairing the G7, under its presidency) who made a bold move in an audacious attempt of « mediation » during this annual international summit, in Biarritz.

PRESIDENT TRUMP PUSHED BACK ON THE SURPRISING VISIT OF JAVAD ZARIF After a day marked by the surprise visit of the head of the Iranian diplomacy Mr Mohamed J to the G7 in Biarritz, invited by President Macron, and with the "blessing" of President Trump who did not oppose it. President Trump praised that his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe has evolved a lot in the negotiation process with Iran so far“¦adamant in refusing to deescalate the situation. On June 12 and 13, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe traveled to Tehran to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rohani and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. As US-Iran relations were extremely tense, due to doubts about the Iranian nuclear program and US sanctions, Japan aimed to engage in dialogue and alleviate these tensions. President Macron meanwhile, has tried to convince Donald Trump to play the de-escalation with Tehran on the nuclear front, to no avail, because he did not wish to meet him in France in the so conventional G7. From the Iranian side, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif went to the summit at the invitation of his French counterpart, Iran's Foreign Ministry confirmed on Twitter. It also said the minister will be not be holding talks with the American delegation during this trip. A month ago, President was very upset, as his French counterpart, seemed to have spoken in the name of the USA, with the Iranian leaders and twitted "I know Emmanuel means well, as do all others, but nobody speaks for the United States but the United States itself ».France said G7 leaders had agreed that President Macron should hold talks and pass on messages to Iran, un a common effort deployed towards a G7 unity.

PDT TRUMP NOD TO NEGOTIATE WITH IRAN DESPITE EFFORT OF G7 UNITY LED BY PDT MACRON Indeed, there has been no talk between the Iranian and American President, in Biarritz, yet the US policy towards Iran has been very severe, in a context of post JPCOA´s withdraw and sanctions, in 2018. Donald Trump nod the negotiation The international nuclear deal, Initiated by the Obama administration in 2015, including the diplomatic partners, China, along with Russia, Britain and Germany, remaining a part of the accord restricted Iran's nuclear capabilities in exchange for the easing of sanctions. President Trump said that while he was happy for Paris to reach out to Tehran to defuse tensions he would carry on with his own initiatives. However, President Trump, who has pushed a maximum pressure policy on Iran, distanced himself from the proposal, saying he had not even discussed it.

IRANIAN FOREIGN AFFAIRS MIN ZARID HAD HELD TALKS AT THE G7 SUMMIT----------------------------------------- Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron at the G7 summit in Biarritz on the Iran nuclear deal. During his « surprise visit » to the summit, Mr Zarif also met French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, as well as German and British officials, for talks on de-escalating tensions with the US.-------------------------------------  Eventually, a meeting the Iranian Foreign Minister´s visit was still worthwhile, and had a meeting with a couple of diplomats from G7, to discuss, the escalated tensions with Iran, triggered recently, by the sanctions imposed by President Trump. The American President justified his way out form the diplomatic discussion : "No, I haven't. We'll do our own outreach, but, you know, I can't stop people from talking. If they want to talk, they can talk."-------------------------------------------------------------- Further the talks, Mr Zarif said the road ahead was difficult but was worth trying. "We had a discussion yesterday on Iran and that enabled us to establish two common lines: no member of the G7 wants Iran to get a nuclear bomb and all the members of the G7 are deeply attached to stability and peace in the region," President Macron said, adding that both he and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had taken initiatives on Iran. From the US side, President Trump stated : “I also support Prime Minister Abe´s outreach, because he´s also speaking to Iran “¦ We´ll do our own outreach. But you can´t stop people from talking. If they want to talk, they can talk.“ as referring to the Japanese abortive attempt to mediate between the US and Iran in June, President Macron said « there was no formal mandate from the G7 leaders to pass a message to Iran », as he appeared on the French Chanel TV France 2, to address the French people, from Biarritz. Instead, Trump held one-on-one meetings with Egypt´s president Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. He told reporters ahead of those meetings the U.S. will soon begin serious negotiations with China “” amid a mounting trade war between the countries. Trump hiked tariffs on China last week after China taxed some U.S. imports in retaliation for a previous round of imports levied by Trump.
